| How Do I Add An Extended Group? |

Extended Groups allow you to group pupils together outside of their classes. This is useful when recording information across class or year groups, for example peripateric music lessons, school council, after-school clubs etc.
Once you have logged into STARS and are at the Home page, follow these steps to add an Extended Group:
- From the menu bar, click 'Ext Grp→Groups→Add New'.
- STARS will display the Extended Group screen ready for you to begin entering details.
- Enter the name for the Extended Group, for example 'ADDITIONAL MATHS'.
- Enter a description for the Extended Group. This is useful when you have a number of similar named groups.
- If you need to track pupils in this group at a high level, place a tick in the 'Add To School Attributes' checkbox. This allows pupils to be added and removed from this group via the pupil add/change menu options and also displays an icon next to the pupil name throughout STARS when a pupil is a member of one of these groups.
- Click 'Accept' to add the pupil to STARS.
