How Do I Setup A New Result Set?

Once you have logged into STARS and are at the Home page, follow these steps to add a new result set for your assessment packages:

NOTE: You can reuse result sets for many packages. If you are setting up a new package and a result set already exists that will meet your needs then simply use that one instead of creating a new result set.

  • From the menu bar, click 'Maintenance→Achievement Results→Add New'.
  • STARS will display the result set screen ready for you to begin entering details.
    • Click your mouse in the 'Result Set Description' field and enter the description for this result set. This is how you will identify your result set when setting up a new package so make sure the name accurately reflects the values contained in the result set. For example, 'ASSESSMENT LEVELS A TO E'.
    • Click in the 'Result Description' field, this is where each individual result will be added for your new result set. Enter the first or lowest result value, for example, if we are setting up results 'A' to 'E' with 'A' being the best result, we will enter 'E' as our starting value.
    • Click on the 'Add' button to add this value into the result set. You will see the value displayed in the 'In Use' column.
    • Repeat the process until you have added all of the values for your new result set.
  • Click 'Accept' to save the new result set.

Adjustments may be made to the result set as follows:

  • To change the order of an item, click on the indiviual result in the 'In Use' list then use the arrows on the left of the list to move the item up or down.
  • To change the value of an item, click on the indiviual result in the 'In Use' list, it will be displayed in the 'Result Description' field where you can change the value. Click the 'Change button' to store the amended value back in the 'In Use' list.
  • To delete a value, click on the individual result in the 'In Use' list so that it is displayed in the 'Result Description' field. Click on the 'Delete' button; the result will be removed from the 'In Use' list and also from the 'Result Description' field.
  • To add a value to the result set but keep it hidden until a later date, click on the individual result in the 'In Use' list then click on the right arrow to move the value into the 'Hidden' column. To move it back, click on the item in the 'Hidden' column then click on the left arrow. The result will be added to the end of the 'In Use' list. Double-clicking on an item is the same as using the arrows.

NOTE: Ensure you click 'Accept' to save the new result set in STARS.
