How Do I Reset A Password?

Click Here To Print This Document.

NOTE: You cannot reset your own password, you must ask an administrator to reset it for you.

Once you have logged into STARS and are at the Home page, follow these steps to reset an account password for another user:

  • From the menu bar, click 'User→Password Reset'.
  • Select the username of the person to have their password reset from the drop-down list.
  • Click 'Accept' to continue.
  • STARS will display the details for this account. Confirm you have selected the correct account then enter a new password in the 'password' field.
  • Click 'Accept' to change the password.

NOTE: The password you enter will only be used at the next login. As soon as the user logs into STARS using this password they will need to choose another one that only they know. This is a security measure to make sure only the person logging in knows their password. For this reason, it is advised that you enter a generic password during the reset process (for example, the school name or the person's first name etc).
